Hi, Welcome to Lea McKenzie Counselling and Wellness. I am a Registered Professional Counsellor with the Canadian Professional Counsellors Association (CPCA #4192) with over 15 year’s experience in the mental health and counselling field. I have a Diploma of Professional Counselling from the Vancouver College of Counsellor Training and I also hold both a Bachelor of Science, and a Bachelor of Social Work from the University of Victoria. I have experience with local health authorities, Indigenous communities, government agencies and various not for profit organizations. I offer an inclusive, non-judgemental, safe space that allows you to explore the reason(s) that have brought you to counselling. I identify as Metis and have experience supporting both indigenous and non-indigenous persons. I believe that people have the capacity to grow, develop new skillsets, and move through difficult situations. I believe that you are your most authentic source of knowledge, and it is my hope that we can work together explore meaning, accomplish goals, and find healing. In our work together you can expect to explore what is going on for you presently, as well as what has happened in your past that may be contributing to your experiences today.
I will support you in your journey and tailor counselling sessions based on your situation.
While my counselling lens is blended with different proven modalities, I tend to lean towards a trauma informed, strength-based, humanistic, and person-centered approach.
I currently offer distance counselling via telehealth (video) and phone appointments.
Please see below for the services I currently offer. If you have any question, please reach out and connect.
-Lea McKenzie, RPC, BSc, BSW
